  • Economical yet fun car

These are good vehicles, they run well, are cheap to get parts for, easy to work on, get decent MPG, but still handle nicely and can be fun. Not many problems with the tops or any of that, i haven't been disappointed.
  • Safest small vechile ever owned

By debbie d on Thursday, September 16, 2010

My LaBaron was just in an accident and thank GOD they made the fenders with Metal and not the plastic newer cars are made of now a days. The car is totaled,, but it saved mine and my 3 yr olds life. I would recemmend to anyone that loves small convertibles, this one has a strong front end and is great protection in an accident. Only had it a couple months before the guy turned in front of me... but I'd buy another one if I could find one again...
  • One of a kind

By bugsbuddy on Monday, February 18, 2008

I bought this car with 80K on it in 2001. It now has 130K (Feb 2008) and is running strong. I have not experienced the transmission problems others write about. I have had and still have problems with the right side rear window motor. It has to be conked from time to time and should be replaced, but it is very expensive. The only two reasons for the two four star ratings are the window problems and the seating comfort. On long drives it is uncomfortable. I detailed the car, replaced the hood insulation, and entered it in a car show two years ago. The car received many votes, but didn't win. I do all the preventative maintenance including timing belts, water pump, drain and flush, brakes, tires, battery, etc. The car has never stalled or left me standing. It is a joy to drive. All this being said, the drive is the best part. The 3 liter engine with overdrive is snappy yet at 70 mph the tach only reads about 2400 rpms. It drives and feels like a sports car. Maybe because it is one.
